Meet The Doctor

Dr. Patty R. Van Wie

Dr. Van Wie was born and raised in Ridge Spring, SC. After graduating from Newberry College with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 1978, she moved to Charleston, SC, where she attended the Medical University of South Carolina Dental College. After graduating in 1981, she moved to Myrtle Beach, SC and started a solo family and cosmetic dental practice in Little River, SC.

Dr. Van Wie is an avid believer in providing the best and newest techniques available. Thus she has hundreds of hours in continuing education credits. She is certified by the Medical University of Georgia in IV Sedation, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Medical Emergency Management. Dr. Van Wie has also been trained at the prestigious Dawson Institute in St. Petersburg, FL in TMJ and reconstructive dentistry. She not only wants to provide the patient with great personal care but functionally aesthetic dentistry that enhances the entire face and personality of her patient.

She is a member of the South Carolina Dental Association, The American Dental Association, The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and The American Academy of Implantology.

Dr. Gordy was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society in 2023 and has been a member of the Montana Army National Guard since 2013 

Life & Hobbies

Dr. Gordy enjoys spending time with her family and two German Shepherds. She participates in running races, including 5 Ks and 10 Ks, and enjoys spending time in the garden.
